Japanese particles in lyrics: は/が/を

Lyrics often omit context, so particles can feel confusing. A good trick is to compare multiple lines and look at what stays stable.

What to look for

• を: usually marks the direct object
• が: often introduces or emphasizes “who/what” does the action
• は: often frames the topic (what the line is “about”)

With aligned translations, you can quickly see which English words (if any) correspond, and where the particle is doing grammar work without a direct translation.
